:: Our Values1. Life TransformingThe church will be life-transforming. We want to see the power and love of God changing people’s lives. Biblical teaching will emphasize application and preaching will call for a response. Seekers will find new life in Christ and Christians will become more like Jesus. 2. EvangelismEveryone will strive to introduce his or her network of friends to Christ. Leading people to Christ will be a primary goal of every ministry. Since planting churches is currently the most effective method of evangelism, we will take leadership in planting churches. We also will be involved in cross-cultural ministries. 3. PrayerWe will be a praying church. Prayer is the most significant factor in releasing the power of the Holy Spirit in the church and in our personal lives. The churches’ ministries will be bathed in prayer. 4. WorshipWe will be a worshipping community. Praise and celebration are dominant themes of worship. We will worship through music, singing, and encourage other expressive, orderly methods. 5. GivingWe will be a giving church. We will support the church financially and give to our conference. We will look for ways to meet practical needs in the local community. Giving is foundational to spiritual growth. 6. EquippingWe will be an equipping and training church. We will make disciples who make disciples in order to minister to an ever-increasing number of people. Multiplying leaders gives the Kingdom the greatest chance of growth. 7. ServingWe will be a serving church. Everyone will be given opportunity to discover their spiritual gifts and use them in ministry. 8. Culturally RelevantThe church will be culturally relevant. Effectiveness will determine style, and methodology will be evaluated and continually open to change. 9. Leadership TeamThe Leadership Team will be acknowledged as God’s gifts to His church for the purpose of setting vision, giving direction, and holding the church accountable to the church's core values. All leaders will be recognized as having authority to lead the ministry they oversee. We will uphold the leaders in prayer, actively encouraging, supporting, and following them. The purpose of leadership is to encourage, equip, and empower every member of the church for ministry. In turn, leaders will welcome feedback, strive to have servant hearts, and lead by example. 10. Growth GroupsEach member will be encouraged to be involved in a small group or in a discipleship relationship. Growth groups are the best means of providing care, accountability, stimulating growth, and applying scripture. 11. LoveLove and unity will be defining characteristics of our church. We will treat each other with respect, and strive for unity of purpose. Fellowship and friendship will be extended to newcomers. |
